2-Bromo-5-fluoro-4-nitropyridine 1-oxide (11.2 g, 47 mmol) and 2 N methylamine (solution in THF) (48 mL, 96 mmol) in 150 mL THF was stirred for 5 min at ambient temperature. Water was poured into the mixture and THF was removed i.vac. The solid was filtered, washed with water and dried at 50° C. i. vac.
