Procedure
A mixture of 2.54 parts of benzoic acid and 12.00 parts of acetonitrile was stirred at 23° C. for 30 minutes. To the resultant mixture, 2.32 parts of silver oxide was added and then, the resultant mixture was stirred at 23° C. for 4 hours followed by filtration. The solid obtained was mixed with 10 parts of tert-butyl methyl ether and the resultant mixture was stirred at 23° C. for 30 minutes followed by filtration. The solid obtained was dried to obtain 3.19 parts of silver salt of benzoic acid.
