To a solution of 4-[2-ethyl-3-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)phenyl]piperidine (D119) (300 mg, 0.952 mmol) in N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF) (10 mL) was added ethyl 4-bromobutanoate (0.272 mL, 1.903 mmol) and potassium carbonate (526 mg, 3.81 mmol). The reaction solution was heated to 60° C. overnight. Ethyl acetate was added and the resulting solution was washed with water, brine. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated to afford ethyl 4-{4-[2-ethyl-3-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)phenyl]-1-piperidinyl}butanoate (D121) (200 mg). MS (ES): C25H40BNO4 requires 429.3. found 430.1 (M+H+).
