Procedure

Sodium hydride (600 oily) was suspended in N,N-dimethylformamide (15 mL), and thereto was added dropwise a solution of {N-{2-chloro-5-[5-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-yl]phenyl}-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide (3.6 g) obtained by Reference Production Example 6 in N,N-dimethylformamide (15 mL) at room temperature, and then the mixture was stirred at the same temperature for 20 minutes. To the mixture was added methyl iodide (1.52 g), and the mixture was further stirred for 1 hour. To the reaction mixture was added 2N hydrochloric acid, and the mixture was extracted with tert-butyl methyl ether. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain N-methyl-N-{2-chloro-5-[5-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-trifluoromethyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol-3-yl]phenyl}-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide (3.73 g).
