Procedure

Sodium hydride (60% oily) (60 mg) was added to a THF (15 ml) solution of N-[3,5-bis (trifluoromethyl)benzyl]-2-chloro-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-phenyl-3-pyridinecarboxamide (Reference Example 12) (348 mg) and the mixture was stirred for 2 hours while heating under reflux. Ethyl acetate was added to the reaction mixture, which was then washed with water and dried. After the solvent was removed by distillation, the entitled compound was obtained as colorless crystals (278 mg).
