To a solution of 5-(5-methyl-3-phenyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy)-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid (100 mg, 0.32 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) were added 2-(1H-benzotriazole-1-yl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyluronium tetrafluoroborate (114 mg, 0.36 mmol), N,N-diisopropyl ethyl amine (0.27 mL, 8.1 mmol) and N,N-dimethylhydrazine (21 mg, 0.35 mmol). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. The reaction mixture was evaporated and then diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were dried, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. Concentration and purification by chromatography (silica, 0 to 5% methanol in dichloromethane) afforded the title compound (31 mg, 27%) as a white solid. MS: m/e=353.3 [M+H]+.
