Procedure
An aqueous sodium maleate solution was prepared by neutralizing maleic anhydride with an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution in a four-necked flask. The aqueous solution polymerization of the solution and an aqueous acrylic acid solution was effected in the presence of ammonium persulfate and hydrogen peroxide at 100° C. for 5 h. The resulting product was neutralized with an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution to obtain a dyeability-improving agent comprising sodium salt of the copolymer.
