Procedure
o-cresol, methanol and water in a molar ratio of 1:2,5:2,5 were reacted as described in Example 1. The catalyst contained iron oxide, tin oxide, chromium oxide and manganese oxide in a molar ratio of 100:2:1:1. After working up, 2,6-xylenol was obtained with a selectivity of 98,7%.
