5.50 g of 2-chloro-4-pentafluorosulfanylphenol, 7.89 g of K2CO3 and 4.05 g of CH3I were stirred at RT in 30 ml of anhydrous DMF for 2 hours and left to stand at RT for 2 days. The mixture was then diluted with 300 ml of EA and washed 3 times with 100 ml each time of water. Drying was effected with Na2SO4 and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure to obtain 5.40 g of a pale yellow oil.
