A solution of 42B (50 mg, 0.16 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was treated with phenethylamine (150 μL, 1.6 mmol), diisopropylethylamine (42 mL, 0.32 mmol), and EDCI (31 mg, 0.32 mmol) at room temperature. After 2 hours Bop reagent (100 mg, 0.22 mmol) was added. After 30 minutes, the reaction was concentrated and purified by chromatography (SiO2, 30% EtOAc in hexanes) to afford 42C (47 mg, 70%). HPLC retention time: 2.79 minutes (YMC S-5 Combiscreen 4.6×50 mm, 10% to 90% MeOH/H2O w/0.2% H3PO4, 4 minute gradient).
