Procedure

To a solution of allyl-(1-ethyl-propyl)-amine (1.27 g, 10 mmol) is added anhydrous isopropanol (50 mL) and 5-bromo-2,4-dichloropyrimidine (3.0 g, 5 mmol) and diisopropylethylamine (2.61 mL, 15 mmol) at ambient temperature. The reaction mixture is stirred overnight and concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified with column chromatography (SiO2, EtOAC/hexane 1:5) to give 2.76 g of allyl-(5-bromo-2-chloro-pyrimidin-4-yl)-(1-ethyl-propyl)-amine.
