To a suspension of NaH (5 mg, 0.13 mmol) in THF (2 mL) at 0° C. was added cyclopentanol (10 uL, 0.11 mmol) and the mixture was stirred for 30 min at 0° C. A solution of 8-(2-chloro-acetyl)-2-(4-trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-2,8-diaza-spiro[4.5]decan-1-one (example 225, 42 mg, 0.11 mmol) in THF (500 uL) was added drop-wise and the reaction mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 16 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with chloroform and the resultant precipitate was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give the crude residue which was purified by flash column chromatography (7:3 AcOEt/heptane) which afforded the desired product as a white solid (16 mg, 34%). MS (ESI): 441.3 (MH+).
