To a solution of the compound obtained in step d above (22d) (1.087 g, 2.91 mmoL) in THF (40 mL) at 0° C. was added a solution of LiOH H2O (244 mg, 5.82 mmol) in water (10 mL). After being stirred for 6 h, 0.5 N HCl (5 mL) was added and the reaction was concentrated under vacuum. The residue was diluted with EtOAc and washed with brine. The combined organic layers were dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated; the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the title compound as a colourless oil (816 mg, 78% yield).
