Procedure
67.40 mg (1 eq.) of benzoic acid, 106 mg (1 eq.) of EDCI and 165 μl (2 eq.) of triethylamine were dissolved in 2 ml of dichloromethane. 150 mg (1 eq.) of 4-(3-thiophen-2-yl[1,2,4]oxadiazol-5-yl)piperidinium hydrochloride dissolved in 2 ml of dichloromethane and 165 μl (2 eq.) of triethylamine were added to the reaction medium, which was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction medium was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was chromatographed on a thick layer (eluent: CH2Cl2/MeOH (98/2: v/v)) to give 98 mg (52%) of the expected product.
