The title compound was prepared from 3-Amino-benzenethiol (5.034 g, 40.21 mmol), 1-Chloro-4-methyl-2-nitro-benzene (4.600 g, 26.81 mmol) and K2CO3 (6.484 g, 46.92 mmol) dissolved in DMF and heated to 100° C. for 16 hrs. At this time the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and diluted with water, extracted with ethyl acetate. Dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under vacuum giving the title compound (2.3 g, 32%).
