To a stirred solution of 4-(benzyloxy)-1-(2,3-dimethylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-6-yl)pyridin-2(1H)-one (500 mg) in TFA (21 ml) was added anisole (7 ml), and the reaction mixture was heated at 130° C. for 4 h. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound (310 mg) as a white solid.
