A stirred solution of D2 (1.6 g, 5 mmole) in 2M HCl acid (50 ml) was heated under reflux for 2 h, then allowed to cool, basified with K2CO3 and extracted with DCM. The extract was dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated under vacuum to afford the title compound as a pale orange solid (1.4 g, 100%). MH+ 276.
