4-(6-Chloronaphthalene-2-sulfonyl)-1-{[4-ethoxycarbonylamino-1-(2-methyl-4-pyridyl)-4-piperidinyl]methyl}-2-piperazinone (215 mg) was suspended in ethyl acetate (10 ml), a 4N hydrochloric acid solution in ethyl acetate (0.3 ml) was added, and the resulting crystals were filtered off to obtain the title compound (180 mg) as colorless powders.
