20 g (0.086 mol) of 4-chloro-3-trifluoromethylcinnamonitrile dissolved in 80 cm3 of anhydrous THF are added in the course of 45 min at a temperature of between -12° C. and -15° C. The temperature is allowed to rise to -5° C. and the mixture is stirred for 1 hour 10 min before being hydrolyzed at between -5° C. and -10° C. with 50 cm3 of water and then 6N hydrochloric acid (approximately 40 cm3) to neutrality.
