88 mg (0.7 mmol) of 6-heptynoic acid, 6 mg (0.07 eq.) of copper(I) iodide and 14 mg (0.04 eq.) of bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) chloride were added to a solution of 114 mg (0.5 mmol) of 2-chloro-4,5-diphenylpyrimidine in 5 ml of triethylamine, and the mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 1 hour. The residue after evaporation was purified by preparative HPLC (method A). 6 mg (3%) of the desired product were obtained.
