To (5-bromo-pyridin-2-yl)-hydrazine (2.0 g, 10.6 mmol) and triethylamine (1.5 mL, 11.0 mmol) in 1:1 THF:CH2Cl2 (15 mL) was added 2-chlorobenzoyl chloride (1.34 mL, 10.6 mmol) and the resulting reaction stirred for 16 hours. The reaction was quenched with water (100 mL), the resulting solids filtered, and dried to give the title compound (2.96 g, 85%).
