Prepare by the method of Example 1.3 using N,N′-diphenethyl-2-aminomalonamide trifluoroacetic acid salt (0.61 g, 0.600 mmol), (R)-2-bromo-3-phenylpropionic acid (0.137 g, 0.600 mmol), N-methylmorpholine (0.20 mL, 1.8 mmol), 1-ethyl-3-(3-(dimethylamino)propyl)carbodiimide hydrochloric acid salt (0.14 g, 0.72 mmol), and 1-hydroxybenztriazole hydrate (0.097 g, 0.72 mmol) in dichloromethane (10 mL). Purify by chromatography on silica gel eluting with 1/1 ethyl acetate/hexane to give the title compound (60%).
