To a mixture of 6-fluoro-1-(phenylsulfonyl)-3-(1-(piperidin-4-yl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1H-indole hydrochloride (Intermediate 17; 210 mg; 0.46 mmol), K2CO3 (189 mg; 1.37 mmol) and KI (3 mg; 0.018 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added 2-bromoethanol (115 mg; 0.92 mmol) under nitrogen. The reaction mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 15 hours, concentrated, and purified by preparative TLC (DCM/MeOH=10/1) to afford 148 mg (69%) of the title compound as a white solid.
