Procedure
The product of Step B (6.0 g) in N, N-dimethylformamide (200 mL) was added to a suspension of 60% sodium hydride (2.0 g) in N, N-dimethylformamide (200 mL). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 1 hour and then treated with 1-bromo-3-chloropropane (30 mL). The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 18 hours and partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The organic portion was washed with water, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated to give the title compound (6.2 g).
