Procedure

To a solution of 1-(4-fluoro-3-morpholin-4-yl-phenyl)ethanol (3.7 g) and diphenylphosphory azide (6.765) in toluene (24 mL) at 0° C. was added a solution of DBU (3.74 g) in toluene (2 mL) and the resulting solution was stirred at 0° C. for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was warmed to room temperature and then stirred for 16 hours. The reaction was diluted with ethyl acetate and quenched with water. The organic layer was washed with water, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by silica gel flash chromatography (10% ethyl acetate in hexane) to give 3.71 g of the title compound as an oil.
