Procedure
A solution of Example 500B (328 mg, 1.64 mmol) in DMF (4 mL) at room temperature was treated with 15-crown-5 (361 mg, 1.64 mmol) and 60% sodium hydride in mineral oil (66 mg, 1.64 mmol). The mixture was treated with a solution of Example 500C (500 mg, 1.49 mmol) in DMF (2 mL), heated to 60° C. for 16 hours, cooled to room temperature, treated with water (20 mL), and extracted three times with ethyl acetate (50 mL). The combined extracts were washed with brine (10 mL), dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated. The concentrate was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel with 1:1 ethyl acetate/hexanes to provide the desired product.
