A solution of 6-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)-3-methyl-1-(tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-1H-pyrazolo-[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carboxylic acid (4-methyl-piperidin-4-yl)-amide (75 mg) in THF (1 mL) was added to a stirred solution of HCl (4N in dioxane). The mixture was stirred at r.t. overnight, the precipitate formed was filtered off and washed with ethyl acetate and acetone and dried in air to give 72 mg (99%) of the title compound as hydrochloride
