Procedure

A stirring solution of Example 1F (0.1 g, 0.159 mmol) and 2-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-7-ylboronic acid (0.053 g, 0.191 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (1.4 mL) was treated with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate (0.35 mL) followed by bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) chloride (0.008 g, 0.012 mmol). The suspension was heated at 65° C. for 4 hours. The reaction was cooled to ambient temperature, and ethyl acetate and water were added. The layers were separated, and the aqueous layer was extracted with additional ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated. The concentrate was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel, eluting with a gradient of from 0% to 25% ethyl acetate in hexane, to provide the title compound. MS ESI(+) m/z 735.2 [M+H]+.
