To a solution of cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (129 mg, 1.50 mmol) in dichloromethane (5 ml) were added oxalyl chloride (190 mg, 1.50 mmol) and N,N-dimethylformamide (40 μL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. This is reaction mixture was added to a solution of 5-chloro[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridin-2-amine (185 mg, 1.00 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) at 0° C., and the mixture was stirred for 2 hr. Water (10 mL) was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (30 mLx3). The organic layer was concentrated under reduced pressure to give N-(5-chloro[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-b]pyridin-2-yl)cyclopropanecarboxamide.
