Procedure

To a solution (4.0 M) of 6-methyl-2-pyridinecarbonitrile in TFA was added PtO2 (0.1 eq) and the mixture was stirred for 50 h under H2 atmosphere at 50 psi. The reaction mixture was filtered and concentrated at reduced pressure to afford the title compound SS1. MS (ES) C7H16N2 required: 128, found: 129 (M+H)+.
