To a suspension of 1 (150 mg, 0.646 mmol) in MeOH (6.5 ml), cooled at 0° C., NaBH4 (24 mg, 0.646 mmol) was added. After 30 min, water (5 ml) was added, MeOH was evaporated and the residue was extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×5 ml). The organic layers were dried over Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated. EtOH was added and the precipitate was collected by filtration affording 2 (82 mg, 53%) as white solid.
