To a solution of 5-chloro-2-nitro-N-(5-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-2H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)benzamide (120 mg, 0.29 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in N,N-dimethylformamide (1 mL) was added piperidine (1 mL) and the resulting solution was stirred for 2 h at 100° C. in an oil bath. The mixture was diluted with 50 mL of ethyl acetate, washed with 2×20 mL of brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under vacuum to afford 130 mg (97%) of product as yellow oil.
