Procedure

A solution of 3-benzyloxy-6,7-difluoro-1H-quinazoline-2,4-dione (Example B, 1.22 g, 4 mmol) in 25 mL of DMF was added to a suspension of sodium hydride (0.19 g, 4.8 mmol) in 20 mL of DMF and stirred for 30 minutes. Bromomethylcyclopropane (0.6 mL, 6.0 mmol) was added, and the mixture was stirred at 25° C. for 18 hours. The reaction was quenched with 1 mL of water and concentrated to an oil. The residue was dissolved in chloroform, washed with water, brine, and dried over magnesium sulfate. The solution was concentrated to give 1.10 g of the title compound as a solid, mp 121-123° C.
