The mixture of 5-aminomethyl-4-[(3,4-difluorophenyl)hydrazono]-4H-pyrazol-3-ylamine (125 mg, 0.5 mmole) and triethylamine (152 mg, 1.5 mmole) in 5 mL of dry DMF was heated to 87° C. To this solution was added slowly di(2-tosyloxyethyl)ether (311 mg, 0.75 mmole) in 1 mL of DMF. The reaction mixture was heated at 87° C. for 1.5 hours, and then worked up by the addition of saline and ethyl acetate. The crude material was purified by preparative TLC (CH2Cl2:CH3OH=16:1) to yield 23 mg of the title compound as a yellow powder. MS (m/z, ES+): 323 (M+1, 100%); 1H NMR (ppm, 300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.52 (m, 2H), 7.24 (m, 1H), 6.25 (br s, 2H), 3.95 (s, 2H), 3.74 (m, 4H), 2.64 (m, 4H).
