Procedure
A solution of 28-4 (1.0 g, 1.8 mmol) in 10 mL EtOAc was cooled to -40° C. and saturated with HCl gas. The solution was warmed to 0° C., then concentrated to give 28-5 as a tan solid. Rf (10:1:1 EtOH/H2O/NH4OH) 0.18.
