The beige-coloured solid obtained is taken up in EtOAc and water, and the aqueous phase is then concentrated to dryness. 0.3 g of 4-(3-aminopropyl)-1H-imidazol-1-ium bis(trifluoroacetate) is obtained in a yield of 61%.
