4-(4-(4-(Benzyloxy)phenyl)-2-methyloxazol-5-yl)pyridine was hydrogenated in the presence of ammonium formate and Pd(OH)2 in methanol for 1 h at 50° C. The catalyst was removed via filtration and the filtrate was concentrated. The resultant residue was dissolved in methylene chloride and dried with Na2SO4. Evaporation of the solvent gave 69 mg (86%) of the title compound as a brown solid. MS m/z: 253.
