5-(3-Bromo-phenyl)-4-pyridin-4-yl-2H-pyrazole-3-thiol (60 mg, 0.22 mmol), 1,3-dibromopropane (22 ul, 0.22 mmol), K2CO3 (152 mg, 1.1 mmol) and dry DMF (5 ml) were reacted at room temperature for 16 hours. Water was added and the reaction extracted with ethyl acetate. The pooled organic extracts were washed with brine, dried over sodium sulphate and evaporated down. The crude material was purified by flash column chromatography eluting with ethyl acetate:hexane (1:1) to give a white solid (50% yield over two steps).
