Procedure

To a solution of (S)-2-(4-bromo-2-fluorophenylamino)-N-(2-(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)propoxy)-1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carboxamide (0.074 g, 0.14 mmol) in THF (1.50 mL) was added 1 M aqueous HCl (1.4 ml, 1.4 mmol). The reaction was stirred for 16 hours at room temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc and washed with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 (3×) and saturated aqueous NaCl. The organic layer was dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to yield a crude white solid. Purification of the crude product by trituration with Et2O and isolation of the resulting solid provided (S)-2-(4-bromo-2-fluorophenylamino)-N-(2-hydroxypropoxy)-1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carboxamide (0.030 g; 52% over two steps) as a white solid. MS ESI (+) m/z 414, 416 (M+) Br pattern detected; 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) δ 7.65 (d, 1H), 7.42 (dd, 1H), 7.28 (m, 1H), 6.81 (t, 1H), 6.28 (d, 1H), 3.88 (m, 1H), 3.70 (dd, 1H), 3.58 (dd, 1H), 3.38 (s, 3H), 1.11 (d, 3H).
