The product from Example 10A (4.50 g, 19.7 mmol), K2CO3 (4.0 g, 29.6 mmol) and 3-bromochloropropane (3.88 g, 24.6 mmol) in 2-butanone (100 mL) were heated at reflux for 24 hours. The mixture was allowed to cool to ambient temperature and then diluted with ethyl acetate (200 mL). The mixture was washed with water (2×100 mL) and brine (100 mL) and the remaining organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and filtered. The filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure to provide the title compound as an off-white solid (5.5 g, 92% yield).
