Procedure
273 Grams of 4-chloro-3-morpholinosulfonylbenzoic acid (1.0 mole) were heated under reflux for 5 hours with 0.5 l of N-methylpiperazine. Subsequently the excess base was completely eliminated in vacuo, the residue was dissolved in 2 l of water, and the pH value of the solution was adjusted to 8 by means of 5N HCl. After standing for 3 days at room temperature, the crystalline precipitate was suction-filtered and was recrystallized from water.
