Methyl cis(±)-2-(4-amino-3-methoxypiperidin-1-yl)-1H-benzimidazole-4-carboxylate obtained in Example (187c) (220 mg, 0.75 mmol) and 4-chloro-5-ethyl-1H-imidazole-2-carboxylic acid obtained in Example (1d) (130 mg, 0.75 mmol) were dissolved in DMA (5 ml). WSC hydrochloride (580 mg, 3 mmol) and HOBt (100 mg, 0.75 mmol) were added, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction solution was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water and brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. Following concentration under reduced pressure, the residue was recrystallized from an ethyl acetate/hexane solvent to obtain the title compound as crystals.
