A mixture of 3-(4-bromobutyl)-1-thia-3-azaspiro[4.4]-nonan-4-one (3.50 g), 1-(1,1-dioxo-1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)piperazine (3.30 g), K2CO3 (4.98 g) and NaI (280 mg) in acetonitrile (230 ml) was heated at 85° C. for 20 hours and the product was processed in substantially the same manner as in Example 10 to afford 2.89 g of needles, m.p. 137°-140° C.
