This compound was synthesized as described under 5.c) with 0.8 ml of HCl (1N) and 0.65 g (1.9 mmol) of 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-[3-(2-phenylethoxy)propyl]-1,3-dioxolane obtained under a) in 50 ml of THF. Column chromatography (SiO2, heptane/ether 4:1) gave 0.44 g (78%) of white crystals.
