Following General Procedure A, the title compound (672 mg, 79%) was prepared from 6-bromo-5-nitro-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-one (1.5 g, 5.86 mmol), phenylmethanethiol (1 ml, 8.79 mmol) and K2CO3 (4.0 g, 29.29 mmol) in DMF (20 ml).
