To 57.9 mg (0.155 mmol) (S)-10-(2-hydroxymethyl-azetidin-1-yl)-5,6,8,9-tetrahydro-1,4,7,10a-tetraaza-cyclohepta[f]indene-7-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester in 10 mL anhydrous THF was added 29.8 mg (1.24 mmol, 60% dispersion in mineral oil) NaH and the reaction was cooled to 0° C. 0.4 mL (1.24 mmol) methyl iodide was added and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 6 hours. 25 mL EtOAc was added and the organic layer was washed with H2O (2×20 mL), 20 mL saturated brine, and dried over MgSO4. After evaporation of the solvent the product was purified by column chromatography (silica, heptane/EtOAc 2:3).
