Ethylamine (0.4 g) was added to a suspension of 1.3 g of 2-chloro-N-(2-chloro-6-methyl-4-trifluoromethyl-3-pyridinyl)-3-pyridinecarboxamide in 5 ml of xylene, and the resulting mixture heated in a pressure tube for 30 min. at 160° C. The cooled mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed, dried, and concentrated. Column chromatography over silica gel (ethyl acetate/hexane, 1:1) gave 0.5 g of the title compound.
