Procedure
A mixture of 4-[7-(p-chloro-phenylsulfanyl)-isoquinolin-1-yl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (297 mg, 0.65 mmol), H2O2 (30% in water, 0.5 mL), trifluoroacetic acid (3 mL) was heated at 50° C., 2 h. The reaction was continued overnight at 35° C. A water solution of NaOH (1N) was added (pH=14), ethyl acetate was added and the organic phase was separated, dried (MgSO4), filtered. The filtrated was concentrated and the residue was purified by flash column chromatography (SiO2, dichloromethane:methanol 9.5:0.5→9.0:1.0) The free base was converted into hydrochloride by treatment with HCl in diethyl ether to obtained 70 mg of the title compound. 1H NMR (CH3OH-d4) δ 8.75-8.85 (m, 2H), 8.10-8.25 (m, 3H), 8.00-8.08 (m, 2H), 7.60-7.68 (m, 3H), 3.85-3.95 (m, 4H), 3.55-3.65 (m, 4H).
