Procedure

A solution of Example 12A (0.29 g, 0.79 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) was treated with methanesulfonyl chloride (0.6 mL, 0.79 mmol) and triethylamine (0.33 mL, 0.24 mmol) and stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water, brine, dried with MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, eluting with a gradient from 0 to 100% ethyl acetate in hexane over 600 mL then isocratic for 300 mL) to provide the title compound (0.28 g, 0.63 mMol, 80% yield). MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 446.1 (M+H)+. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ ppm 1.36 (s, 9H) 2.78 (s, 3H) 3.62 (ddd, J=6.94, 5.55, 4.16 Hz, 2H) 3.92 (s, 3H) 4.33-4.39 (m, 2H) 5.80 (t, J=5.35 Hz, 1H) 6.70 (s, 1H) 6.93 (d, J=9.12 Hz, 1H) 7.35 (dd, J=9.12, 2.78 Hz, 1H) 7.89 (d, J=2.78 Hz, 1H).
