To a stirred solution of 1-benzenesulfonyl-2-(4-bromo-phenyl)-aziridine (1.00 g) in tetrahydrofuran (16.5 mL) under argon were added sodium iodide (0.487 g) and phenylisocyanate (0.539 g). The mixture was stirred for 5 days at room temperature. The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (50 mL) and washed with water. The org. phase was dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated. The product was purified using column chromatography (SiO2, cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 1:0=>0:1) to give 1-benzenesulfonyl-4-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-phenyl-imidazolidin-2-one (0.974 g) as a colorless solid. MS: 458.9 ([M+H]+)
